Compunetix, acknowledges and supports Chairman Ajit Pai and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and its Keep America Connected Pledge. Compunetix has committed to take the steps necessary to provide vital communications equipment across the globe in a dire time of need for remote collaboration.
Recently, Chairman Pai initiated this new voluntary program for telecommunications providers, manufacturers and trade associations through a series of telephone calls and conferences with industry organizations. In less than 24 hours, a large number of those organizations conveyed to Chairman Pai that they have committed to the Pledge and will implement it as soon as possible.
The Pledge is intended to promote the importance of keeping all citizens reliably connected during the conronovirus pandemic and to help ease its impact on businesses and society. Participating organizations, over the next 60 days, pledge to:
- not terminate service to any residential or small business customers because of their inability to pay their bills due to the disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic
- waive any late fees that any residential or small business customers incur because of their economic circumstances related to the coronavirus pandemic
- open its Wi-Fi hotspots to any American who needs them
