The Middle East has long been considered the cradle of humanity; some of the most important engineering and mathematical discoveries had roots in its diverse geography. The GITEX event strives to foster and continue that technological innovation inherent in the region. The Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) is an annual consumer computer and electronics trade show and conference which takes place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This year marked the 35th anniversary of the event, held on October 16 – 20. The focus at this year’s event was on emerging technologies and robotics, with highlights including the real time robotics café and talks from some of the most innovative companies from around the globe. Compunetix account executives from the Asia Pacific region attended the event to keep abreast of the ever-changing demands of the Middle Eastern unified collaborations market.
Our executives joined 130,000 peers from 150 countries and joined in the conversation. Compunetix attends strategic global events like GITEX to bolster our continued learnings that grow our businesses, our partnerships, and our contributions to the industry.
“At GITEX, we had the chance to explore new business opportunities for audio conferencing as a consequence of our partnerships in the region and learned about the challenges that other suppliers in the Unified Communications business are facing, such as restrictions on cloud services and regulation on VoIP usage,” shared Compunetix Senior Account Executive Antonio Capodieci. “We now understand more about the competitive scenario and how to direct our product roadmap to maximize the number of opportunities in the emerging Middle East market.”
